A first defeat for Jake Paul

Influencer and pugilist Jake Paul suffered the first defeat of his professional boxing career on Sunday in Saudi Arabia. 

The 26-year-old years old dropped the flag by split decision in front of the British Tommy Fury. Two of the three judges handed cards 76-73 in favor of the winner, while the dissenter favored Paul 75-74. 

The Youtuber had known the pleasure of victory during his six first fights, he who started in the world of boxing three years ago. He came very close to maintaining his immaculate record. In the eighth and final round against Fury, Paul knocked his rival down. The latter, however, got up and sped to victory.

“It’s a humbling experience. I'll take it and come back stronger,” Paul said after the duel.

Fury, half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, hasn't been defeated in nine fights. Against Paul, he threw 302 punches and hit the target 88 times. His rival meanwhile attempted 153 strikes and touched his opponent 49 times.
