It was the first playoff win for the third-year quarterback. He had failed his first two attempts.
The game had started badly for Jackson, who threw an interception from his second appearance on the field. The 24-year-old however recovered afterwards and showed all his talent. He notably scored his first touchdown on a 48-yard run. In the end, Jackson amassed 136 yards with his legs and 179 yards with his arm.
The Ravens’ defense also had a say in the win. After allowing wide receiver AJ Brown to register a major, she deprived her rivals of crossing the goal line. The unit led by Don Martindale mainly neutralized the excellent running back Derrick Henry. The latter was limited to just 40 yards on 18 carries.
It was an interception by Marcus Peters that put an end to the hopes of the Titans late in the game, they who still had the opportunity to tie the mark with a touchdown followed by a convert.
The other major of the winners was the work of running back JK Dobbins.
Next week, the Ravens face reigning Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs in the American Association semifinals.
