Stands d’activités, initiations, démonstrations, spectacles… Tout y est au complexe sportif Ramadier, qui devient un parc ouvert ce 14 septembre de 10 h à 18 h.

Never two without three! The discovery of urban culture for the people of Lunel returns this Saturday, September 14 with the third edition of the Urban Fest, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For a few hours, the Ramadier sports complex will be transformed into a large open park that gives free access to all the activities offered. The first edition in 2022 was held in the arenas and at Parc Jean-Hugo, and it was only last year that the event was moved to the Ramadier complex.

A little train as a shuttle

To get there, the municipality is renewing the successful free shuttles of the Petit Train. This free means of transport allows you to get there from Place de la République. The journey takes about 45 minutes, and will pass in front of the city center, “to show the progress of the Cours Péri”. The Little Train will make six shuttles during the day, at 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., as well as the return, the last of which will be at 6:00 p.m.

8 hours of entertainment and shows

« There will be some highlights at several times during the day with demonstrations and a roller skating competition and scooters », explains Jennifer Lequet. What we call a contest will take place around 4 p.m., « with good riders who come from all over the region. »

For this 3rd edition, an XXL program awaits the public with more than ten activities. « Among the new features this year, there will be the introduction of a parkour of electric mini-motorbikes with a certain age limit. We will also be doing new introductions to beat boxing and breakdancing », underlines the sports and youth department. The new feature from last year, computer-assisted music (MAO) is back and young people will have the opportunity to create the atmosphere they want.

For the rest of the activities, families will be able to do a Parkour yamakasi, as well as an obstacle course typical of “Koh-Lanta” and a bike circuit for children. There will also be the opportunity to participate in a 3 x 3 basketball tournament, to learn graffiti, hip-hop or to attend dance and beat box shows and much more. And like at Urban Fest, no one is left out, inflatable structures will be made available for the little ones, as well as a tennis ball activity held by the USL club.

An event accessible to young people but open to all

The day will end with a breakdance demonstration followed by a rap concert of about thirty minutes, by a young person from the Nîmes association Da Storm, which aims to promote talented singers. In addition, a DJ will be present from morning to evening. Catering will be provided by Rugby olympique lunellois (Rol), which will offer snacks throughout the day, « with preferential rates and accessible to all. »

There is therefore something to delight everyone on this Saturday, September 14, free and without registration. « Young people can come and have fun without any hassle, rejoices Jennifer Lequet, the aim is to be able to do new activities that normally have rather restricted access. » Although one might think that Urban Fest is reserved for young people, it is entirely possible for families and adults to come and enjoy what the former Festy’jeuns is now replacing.
