Un homme de 58 est décédé ce dimanche 29 septembre 2024 après avoir été projeté contre une maison pendant sa séance de kitesurf.
The tragedy occurred in the bay of La Forêt in Fouesnant in Finistère on the afternoon of Sunday, September 29, according to Ouest-France.
Thrown by a gust of wind
A 58-year-old man died in a kitesurfing accident after being "thrown by a gust against the facade of a house" located on the avenue de la pointe du Cap Coz, in Fouesnant, report our colleagues from France 3.
A nurse who was walking nearby tried to resuscitate the victim with the help of two SNSM rescuers, in vain.
"Despite early treatment by witnesses, the victim is declared dead" by the emergency services doctor (SMUR) dispatched to the scene, specifies the fire and rescue service (SDIS) of Finistère.
"The wind was violent"
According to our colleagues, gusts of up to 70 km/h were announced for this Sunday. The mayor of the commune, Roger Le Goff, quoted by France Bleu Breizh Izel radio, indicated that the sea was very rough: “It was white and the “wind was violent”.
Originally from the town, the fifty-year-old used to make kitesurfing at this location.
