A local resident takes a nap “in complete confidence” on the sidewalk in front of the gendarmerie in Bagnols-sur-Cèze.

In Bagnols-sur-Cèze, Jean, a resident of Avenue Salengro, found a way to escape the heatwave. He set up his folding chair on the sidewalk and took a well-deserved nap in the shade, lulled by the fresh air.

What wouldn't he do to escape the heatwave! The least we can say is that Jean has a lot of ideas and he's demonstrating it in this heatwave context. His house is air-conditioned. And yet this resident of Avenue Salengro in Bagnols-sur-Cèze has relocated his folding chair to the sidewalk next to the gendarmerie compound. A very curious migration in the shade of the trees and the perimeter wall of the brigade which has amused the few passers-by. “I prefer to breathe the pure air of nature” he explains to Dominique and Rui, two of his acquaintances from the neighboring rue du Languedoc who are having a good time with this funny and unusual ride that is offered to their eyes. Jean, for his part, willingly adds: “Here, there is peace and quiet and the police, you can take a nap in complete confidence”. What's more, the pure air of nature doesn't cost anything.
