A Lodévos return to school marked by stability in schools

Élus et techniciens ont fait le tour des six établissements public de la Ville, maternelles et élémentaires, ce vendredi 30 août, juste avant la rentrée.

The city of Lodève has, all educational establishments combined, seven schools (six public and one private), a middle school and a high school. On Friday, August 30, an impressive delegation led by Mayor Gaëlle Lévêque and her deputy for school affairs Gilles Marres, made the traditional back-to-school tour of nursery and elementary schools. Elected officials, department heads and technicians met with the teaching teams of the Prémerlet group, the Pasteur, César Vinas, Fleury and Prosper-Gély schools.

Work and projects

“To ensure that everything is ready for this new Lodévoise school year, even if there are always a few adjustments to be made” indicates Gaëlle Lévêque accompanied by the vice-president of the community of communes in charge of childhood and youth Bernard Goujon, in charge of the canteen and after-school activities. "We work together with the after-school leisure center teams to ensure a good balance of reception in our Lodève establishments". The opportunity to return to two major construction sites too.

"We have just completed, in August, major energy renovation work started in the summer of 2023 on Prosper Gély and César Vinas. They concern insulation, changing joinery, boilers and everything that helps improve comfort by moving towards less energy consumption, continues the elected official. The work is an eternal restart, each summer we adjust, we maintain, we resume with our means and the help we can have. Because the standards change, the expectations and the climate too".

A very valuable Educational Success Program

"It is precious !". During the visit to the Lodève schools, each director praised the importance of the Educational Success Program (PRE) carried out by the city and its municipal social action center, integrated into the city contract, under the responsibility of the elected official Claude Féral. “We offer tailor-made, individualized courses adapted to children from a very young age, specifies the coordinator, Anne-Marieke Stams, whose work was unanimously praised. Today, we provide around a hundred courses per year with a team of ten referents, specialist educators and psychologists for comprehensive care, with parents.”Support outside of school hours in the priority district of the City is thus set up for 2-18 year olds, around five axes: schooling and dropping out of school, access to culture and leisure, educational support, support for parenting, access to care. There are also workshops and complementary activities (outings, art therapy, radio workshops, etc.), all in partnership with local stakeholders.

The PRE is supported by the state (ANCT), the Caf and the city of Lodève. Information and contact: 06 42 33 60 07 and pre@ccas-lodeve.fr~60/p62~ Like here at the Fleury kindergarten, discussions with teachers took place all morning long. Midi Libre – ALAIN MENDEZ

570 pupils in nursery and primary school in the public sector

In terms of numbers, 570 pupils are returning to the public sector this Monday, September 2, in the 16 elementary classes and 9 nursery classes. Please note that with 11 registered students, the under-3 class located at the Pasteur school still has places. “There is movement but this return to school will be marked by stability compared to the 2023 return to school, in terms of staff, teachers and teams in the city and the community of communes.” note Gaëlle Lévêque.

Please note that the expansion of the perimeter includes Prémerlet in the new City contract that the prefect will sign on Wednesday, September 4. All schools are now part of the City's priority district and will benefit from the same support as part of the Educational City program, in order to reduce the inequalities created by precariousness.
