A look back in figures at the 25th edition of the aptly named Giants Tournament

Le Tournoi des Géants se vit pleinement à Frontignan, aussi pour les équipes récompensées par des pavois.

The pantagruelian format meeting kept all its promises last weekend.

The 25th edition of the Giants Tournament once again kept all its promises, Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2, with 1,300 children and more than 450 leaders, educators and accompanying parents from all over France, welcomed with happiness in Frontignan, land of rugby.

And as on a field, there was a melee: between rugby competition, tasting of a giant paella on Friday evening for 800 children and adults, the huge macaronade for 1,800 people on Saturday evening and the many activities offered to everyone.

Rugby but also bullfighting games or jousting

For bullfighting games, the stands of the Frontignan arenas have never been so filled, to the great joy of Michel Cassagne and Laurent Gasc, of the Lou Senglié bullfighting club.

Sète Croisières took 750 children and 450 adults to the heart of Languedoc Venice, with a guided tour of the ports, the Pointe Courte district at La Plagette, the canals, passing under the eight bridges in the city center.

Water sports have found new members: 400 children aged 12 and 14 practiced jousting on boats at the Augustin-Descournut quay, in Mèze, with the team of Yannick Baëza from the Jeune Lance Sportive Mèzoise, and at the Caramus quay in Frontignan with the team of Frédéric Chappuis from the Société des Jouteurs Frontignanais.

200 children practiced canoeing at the Quai Alary nautical base in Frontignan Plage, and 320 others practiced Ketch sailing at the Françoise-Pascal nautical center in Sète.

Finally, 120 kids joined the inflatable structures at Kid's Paradise in Frontignan-Plage. This 25th edition brought together 20 clubs, 100 teams and saw 300 matches on different grounds.

From the bulwarks to the best

The bulwarks rewarding the best were awarded to the US Mourillon in Minimes M14 (Trophée Freddy Bigotière), to RC Jacou (Jean-Marc Daroux Trophy), in Benjamins M12 at Montpellier HR (Trophée Ville de Frontignan), at La Ciotat Ceyreste (Trophée Yannick Jeuzion), in Poussins M10 at Blagnac SCR (Trophée Atlas), at US Lisloise ( Gargantua Trophy), in Mini-Poussins M8 at La Ciotat Ceyreste (Goliath Trophy), at Grésivaudan (Gulliver Trophy). Grésivaudan wins the entire club trophy.

This year again, the success of this tournament is due to the quality of the members of the steering committee of the Tournoi des Géants association, to the voluntary and voluntary commitment of more than a hundred parents who can be saluted, and to the enthusiasm of the partners who made it possible to organize such a meeting that no other club is capable of to achieve!
