BURLINGTON, Ont. | The Halton regional police, in Ontario, has confirmed that the man shot Friday afternoon in front of a shopping center in Burlington, was Pat Musitano, a mobster well known to Hamilton, a nearby town.
The police were called to the scene of the crime to 13h. The officers found two victims of gunshot wounds. One of the two men, Pat Musitano, 52 years old, died on the spot.
The police of Halton is currently searching for a suspect who is believed to have fled the scene of the crime on board of a sedan, gray with four doors, looks like an Infiniti Q50. The vehicle would be damaged on the driver’s side door, according to police.
Aged 52 years, Pasquale (Pat) Musitano was one of two brothers who have been indicted for the murder of the godfather of the mafia in Hamilton Johnny “Pops” Papalia and his right arm Carmen Barillaro at the end of the 1990s. The two brothers had pleaded guilty to masterminding the murder of Papalia in exchange for the withdrawal of charges in relation to the death of Barillaro.
Pat and Angelo Musitano were sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2000, and were released a few years later.
Angelo Musitano was assassinated in the month of may 2017, while he was sitting in his vehicle, in the entrance of his house in Hamilton. He was 39 years of age.
Pat Musitano had been severely wounded in April 2019 during an assassination attempt missed.
