Un sentier du littoral de 70 km à l'étude
#ETANG-DE-THAU –The project is only in its early stages and does not yet have a name. But it is on the table of the Thau Basin Mixed Union and even at the top of the pile. The idea of a major coastal path, along the edge of the Thau lagoon, has never been so close to becoming a reality. The project is ambitious: to take walkers continuously over nearly 70 km, showing them the most beautiful things that the Etang de Thau has to offer. Its landscapes, its nature, its biodiversity, its heritage… Discover its many riches, hiking shoes on your feet, backpack on your back.4
The prefecture square is going to get a makeover!
#MONTPELLIER – One of the busiest passages in the city had not seen any redevelopment for more than forty years. But in a "concern for embellishment", these are titanic works for an amount of 8 M€ which were announced by the municipality on Friday. "We remember Montpellier, when the car was at the center of residents' daily lives. It is time to restore this place to its function as a place of life, explained the mayor, Michaël Delafosse. Ultimately, 1,000 m² additional pedestrian area will be created. "We wanted a clear, harmonious fountain square to better reveal the architectural heritage of the square and its reliefs", detailed Jacqueline Osty, landscaper in project manager.
Today's figure: 920
#BEZIERS –This is the number of people checked in the La Devèze district, in Béziers, during the week of Operation Place Net. Prefect of Hérault François-Xavier Lauch took stock of the operation on Friday: 874 vehicles and 12 businesses checked, 129 tickets issued, 20 drug users convicted… Around a hundred mobile police and gendarmes as well as CRS were mobilized. At least five operations of this type are planned this year.
L’Atelier Tuffery continues its tour of France
#LOZERE –Julien Tuffery has a smile on his lips. And he can be lucky, the Lozère business leader, given the success of the pop-up store in Montpellier, installed on the Place de la Comédie in June 2023 and which has just closed its doors. Barely the time to return to Floracois lands that the local company is already ready to take the wind again, this time for Clermont-Ferrand, from February 20 to 24, for the opening of a pop-up store. "We refuse the resale of our clothes by others, so we go to people. We know that we have dormant potential customers", indicates Julien Tuffery. And events in other destinations flash through his mind: Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Paris, Bordeaux… hellip; The objective is not to maintain a store in each city – "we do not have the jeans to sell even if our new production unit can produce better" –, but rather to capture customers who are reluctant to buy clothing online.
Headwinds for the mayor of Moulézan
#GARD – The mayor of Moulézan Pierre Lucchini is called to appear on May 13 at the Nîmes court. He is accused of having widely distributed opinions favorable to wind turbines during the public inquiry concerning a project of five wind turbines in the Bois des Lens sector. This is the "Chained Duck" which revealed the affair, raised by a collective of opponents of the Bois des Lens wind turbines. Pierre Lucchini is also vice-president… to renewable energies in Nîmes metropolis. Franck Proust, president of the Agglo, sent a message to community elected officials, telling them that he was withdrawing his delegations to "one of our colleagues" because "trust is an essential constant in our functioning which cannot be altered".
