Two suspects allegedly linked to break and enters files in the Haut-Saint-François RCM and in Sherbrooke were arrested.
L e 1 May, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) of the position of the Haut-Saint-François have arrested a man and a woman after an investigation into break-ins committed recently.
The 33-year-old and the 31-year-old woman were arrested in East Angus after several investigative steps, said Aurélie Guindon, spokesman for the SQ.
“A search was also conducted at a residence on Grondin Street where various stolen objects were found,” she says.
“The 33-year-old has been detained pending his appearance. He was also the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Correctional Service of Canada for unlawful liberty. The woman arrested will appear later. ”
The investigative work carried out has made it possible to solve eight files of break and enter in connection with six events that occurred in the Haut-Saint-François RCM and two in Sherbrooke, she says.
On Wednesday, Jean-François Giroux appeared before Judge Hélène Fabi to face a charge in connection with this case. He will be back in court on Thursday, but more charges may be brought in the week.
