Adjoint délégué à la ville connectée, Frédéric Escojido annonce des nouveautés pour l’appli Nîmes et davantage de services pour le public.

With nearly 30,000 downloads since its launch in 2019, the Nîmes app has found its audience. Why do you want to develop it??

The e-approach was taken under the previous mandate to develop everything related to the dematerialization of procedures, at home, from your computer. Then, the City felt that there was a more mobile use with smartphones. There was a need to develop the wired network with connections via Wifi. Now, Nîmes is very largely provided with 5G antennas from the four operators.

Which leads to the development of this Nîmes application. The City has developed WiFi access terminals on the Esplanade, at Les Halles, at the arenas, near museums, social centers, at Parnasse, etc. The bricks that make up the application have been developed to meet the expectations of users, Nîmes, young and old, and for tourists too.

Among the most used sections, we find requests for intervention in public spaces to repair the roadway, illegal dumping, for menus of canteens, administrative procedures. How are municipal services organized to respond to users?

12,236 regular users were recorded over one year, an exponential increase. It’s a well-oiled organization. We have further improved the reporting brick with geolocation, a simplification of procedures which makes it easier to use (+ 35% requests for intervention in public spaces compared to 2023 , Editor’s note). For a hole in the road, you will be able to specify the type of report, geolocate, give your coordinates to be kept informed. You will reinforce the first users who said what the problem was.

As part of the hypervisor implemented since September, a reporting center will monitor all the responses provided to users. This will be a booster for the City. Interventions can be carried out as quickly as possible. Via the hypervisor's surveillance cameras, we will be able to see the urgency of the situation. (…) What's also new is that, as part of the citizen relationship management tool, if you want to have your own account, you can have the # 39;history of your actions, reports. This is an asset.

Among the new features, you offer a section dedicated to islands of freshness. What will we find there ?

We know that Nîmes is a city where it is very hot in the summer. My colleagues Chantal Barbusse and Catherine Jehanno have already been developing many actions for vulnerable people at CCAS for many years. But so is everyone with the heat. From there, we said to ourselves, at the end of winter, that it was appropriate to propose this section. It's not interactive. We just play our information role with mapping by locating drinking water points, fountains, parks, gardens, air-conditioned public spaces.
