A microlight makes an emergency landing in the mountains for an unknown reason, the aircraft catches fire once on the ground

This Saturday, August 24, 2024, a microlight had to make an emergency landing and burst into flames once it reached the ground in a small town in Savoie. The pilot was seriously injured.

The accident took place this Saturday late morning, around 11 am. A microlight, with a Swiss couple on board, which was leaving Annemasse and was due to reach Aix-en-Provence in the PACA region, made an emergency landing, reports the Dauphiné Libéré.

For the time being, the reasons for this brutal and sudden landing on the Plainpalais pass on the commune of the Deserts are unknown, specifies the daily. However, the Savoie firefighters relayed a photo of the accident on their X account (ex-Twitter).

The small plane caught fire once it landed on the ground. The firefighters -firefighters quickly intervened, with around fifteen agents, took charge of the pilot who was seriously injured. He was transported to the Chambéry hospital. The victim's wife, in a less serious condition, was also transferred to the same health facility.
