Students from all over the world appreciate the variety of the Cévennes geological landscapes.
Some of you may have come across people in yellow vests and helmets during the week, walking the paths and roadsides of the Alès region ? Don't worry, these people are only interested in the stones of the Alès region.
Indeed, Geoffray Musial, a geologist at IMT Mines Alès, accompanies these students and teachers from IFP Énergies Nouvelles, who have come from the Paris region: « Our region, he specifies, is an open book on geology, because it offers incredible diversity and complexity, from the granites and schists of the Cévennes to the limestones of the Garrigues, including the coalfields. A magnificent learning ground for geology schools. » These students from the four corners of the world, from Angola to Lebanon via Ecuador, particularly appreciate the variety of our landscapes but always in connection with this incredible geological history of the Cévennes territory.
