A party to highlight and promote soft mobility

Élus et membres du centre renouvellent l’expérience lors d’un après-midi tout public en centre-ville.

It will take place for the 2nd consecutive year on the Place du Marché, Saturday April 6.

This Saturday, April 6, the Market Square will be pedestrianized for the second edition of the Soft Mobility Festival organized by the city, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with numerous partners.

Talk, test, think

"The idea is that for a whole half-day, we can talk, test and think about the different ways of making the city center and mobility coexist. Soft mobility means walking, cycling or scootering…", explains municipal councilor Izia Gourmelon, delegate to the socio-cultural center which is responsible for the event's programming.

Fun activities will be offered throughout the afternoon with circuits to learn to ride a bike, demos and introductions to BMX or a free space for the little ones… Awareness will also be present at the heart of 'a public meeting with the Lodévois and Larzac Sport Santé centre, road safety or the Local Mission to inform young people about mobility issues.

"In the new items section we will find time for discussion around round tables and conferences on different themes related to travel", continues the municipal councilor.

"In this Olympic year, we wanted to combine mobility and health. Walking or cycling is good for our physical condition and for the environment, adds Rachel Théron, from the Social Center. On April 6, we advise people to come with their bicycles because the Department's services will offer bicycode marking and we will have self-repair workshops" .
