A person falls between two trains and tries to get back on: he ends up dying after being hit by a metro in Paris
|On the night of Monday 16 to Tuesday 17 September 2024, on line 7 of the Paris metro, a person fell between two trains at a station before dying when hit by the metro. Train traffic was interrupted until the end of service to allow emergency services to intervene.
A person died in the night of Monday 16 to Tuesday 17 September 2024, in horrible conditions. Indeed, the individual is said to have fallen between two cars at the Stalingrad station, located in the 19th arrondissement, according to a police source quoted by Le Parisien.
The events took place before one o'clock in the morning. According to information from our colleagues, "on the arrival of the train (NDLR : towards Mairie d’Ivry and Villejuif – Louis Aragon), the victim fell between two cars, tried to get out but was unable to do so". The victim was unable to get back up, she was hit by the train as it resumed its journey. .
The body was brought back up onto the platform.
A RATP camera captured the incident. The firefighters and the emergency services were dispatched to the scene but were unable to do anything. “The victim was declared dead.” The victim's body, “was brought back up to the platform” and “was taken care of by the funeral home for transport to the forensic institute”.
This “serious passenger accident” required an interruption of metro line 7 in both directions, between Louis Blanc (10th) and La Courneuve stations – May 8, 1945 (Seine-Saint-Denis). And this, “until the end of service”, indicated on X the account of metro line 7 inviting passengers to take other routes.
