A preventive action at Secours populaire

"Contacted by the Center for reception and risk support for drug users (Caarud Axess), the Secours populaire de Lodève has set up an action within the framework of health prevention actions, explains Guilhem Aussibal, member of the office. It took place on June 27 partly in its premises for the fibroscan and in the Caarud Béziers van for the hepatitis B and C screening tests.

"It's a special event, called Trod Party, explains Maël, prevention facilitator at Caarud. The van comes once a week to Clermont-l’Hérault, Gignac and Lodève for social support and the distribution of consumer materials: condoms, syringes, trod…". The trod is a rapid diagnostic orientation test. Aurélie Crombecque midwife, who reports to the management of the PMI, carries out her duties at the Sexual Health Center (planning center). She participates in prevention actions in schools and other places. Corinne Rotrou is a nurse coordinating actions outside the walls at the Expert Service for the fight against viral hepatitis at Montpellier University Hospital in collaboration with Cohep Occitanie (Occitanie hepatitis coordination). She performs fibroscans to detect chronic liver diseases, associated with screening for hepatitis B and C, alcohol diseases and steatosis.

The tests offered that day were open to all, anonymous and free and we noted good participation, which will encourage partners to repeat the experience.
