A rainy-stormy weekend predicted in the Gard: towards a new Mediterranean episode ?

Rivers are likely to react strongly at the end of April. Midi Libre – MiKAEL ANISSET

Some sites, such as La Chaîne Météo, are announcing a seventh Mediterranean episode since the start of the year from Sunday April 28.

After a period of strong gusts of wind and low temperatures, the Gard will experience the next few days that are milder and especially rainier. Indeed, during the night from Saturday 27 to Sunday 28 April, unsettled weather will set in in the department.

Météo France announces rain which should be "sustainable and at times sustained until mid-week", i.e. until Thursday May 2 inclusive. For La Chaîne Météo, we are talking about the seventh Mediterranean episode since the start of the year with a depression “which will deepen towards the Bay of Biscay on Friday. […] With winds rotating counterclockwise around its center, this depression will pump a mass of warm air from West Africa into a southwest flow over the country. This warm and humid air will confront the cold and dry air."

The specialized site thus announces a stormy deterioration.

It should begin on the evening of Saturday April 27. Météo France, for its part, announces stormy showers and even very heavy rain in Saumane, in the Cévennes, Sunday April 28. The last days of April will also experience their share of storms and rain, which should result in significant precipitation accumulations and cause the Gard waterways to react, so be careful on the roads. !

Temperatures will also rise over the days to exceed 20° deg from May 1st. C.
