According to Le Parisien, which revealed the affair, the first grade teacher would have broadcast one of the songs on a website which relays Daesh propaganda. He was placed in pre-trial detention.

However, he is described by those close to him as "someone ordinary who leads a cushy existence" . According to our colleagues from Le Parisien, a CP teacher was indicted for "terrorist criminal association with a view to preparing one or more crimes of& rsquo;harm to people.Suspected of having sung in praise of Daesh, he was placed in pre-trial detention this Monday, February 26, as requested by the national anti-terrorism prosecution.

Five nasheed

The individual, aged 26, taught in a school in Drancy (Seine-Saint-Denis). He is accused of having performed at least five nasheed, Muslim religious songs, glorifying, in French, the fighters of the Islamic State, including & ;quot;the’un would have been broadcast on the website of the I’lam Foundation, the main propaganda channel of Daesh", specifies Le Parisien.&amp ;nbsp; It was not, however, in the context of his professional activity that he would have sung these songs.

"A perfectly integrated teacher"

Sofiane O. was in the crosshairs of state services for her activity on social networks. However, his lawyer defends "a teacher perfectly integrated into French life (…) civilly married and father for more than a year"< /em>, who would only go to the mosque "a few times a year". But at his home, investigators found jihadist propaganda and texts by Nasheed, some of which were clearly dedicated to the Islamic State, according to Le Parisien. /p>

Links with radical Islam ?

The school teacher would have mentioned, in front of the investigators, "the’control" of his interlocutors. "In his relationships with others, he is a caring person, very interested in geopolitics but he can also be credulous", pleads her lawyer.

Investigations continue, particularly into his past which could reveal links with radical Islam. He notably studied at the controversial European Institute of Human Sciences in Saint-Denis. In the meantime, Sofiane O. was placed in pre-trial detention, her students saw a new teacher arrive on Monday.
