This Tuesday, March 26, 2024, a middle school student showed up at his François-Jean-Armorin school campus in Crest with a knife in his bag. His ambition was to attack a teacher. He was excluded, after being denounced by his comrades.

A story of revenge

He said he wanted to use it against his mathematics teacher. The latter had given him a punishment: to copy multiplication tables. He had shown his weapon to some of his comrades, they went to warn the CPE – assistant principal – who went to pick up the student when he arrived at school.

However, he was not known to have a history with the teacher and was in no way a disruptor in the class. But he himself describes himself as "agitated", adds our colleagues.

Complaint filed on behalf of the establishment

After a search of the student's bag, a knife was found. He was immediately excluded, until the upcoming disciplinary council. A complaint was filed on behalf of the establishment by the principal. "Introducing a weapon in a school establishment being a crime", an investigation has been opened and the schoolboy will soon be questioned by the gendarmes.

The professor in question, in shock, did not file a complaint and did not request legal protection from the rectorate. A member of the educational community of the establishment affirms that "when we really want to take action, we don’advertise it before&quot ;. The school principal says he is "very satisfied with the reaction of the students who immediately denounced their classmate".

An intervention in each class of the establishment will take place to discuss this event, and support the students.
