Almost a month after the death of Jean Lapointe, on November 18, his son Jean-Marie Lapointe delivers a vibrant tribute to his famous father on social networks. Actor and singer Jean Lapointe would have celebrated his 87th birthday today.

Jean-Marie Lapointe, 56, wanted to mark – in a very emotional and touching way – the birthday of his late father today, Tuesday, December 6. The host shared a dozen souvenir photos of his father with his family, friends and well-known personalities such as Céline Dion, Jean-Pierre Ferland and Yvon Deschamps.

“I would like everyone on earth to have images like in my blue dreams, for there to be no more storms, for dad to never be old,” wrote Jean-Marie Lapointe, quoting Henri Salvador.

“I've been dreading this day for several years.

It's my dad's birthday today.

Without him.

So we begin the cycle of “firsts”.

First birthday.

First Christmas.

First Easter.

Without his physical presence near us.< /p>

But I feel he will be with us.

Jean-Marie Lapointe also took up the writings of the writer Marie de Hennezel arguing that death ends life, but not the relationship.

The son, who we know is very spiritually oriented, wishes to take advantage of this new relationship with his beloved late father; which he sees as the only way to avoid the suffering caused by the disappearance of a loved one.

“It doesn't matter where where you are right now. I like you. That's all that matters,” he concludes.

The holding of a burning chapel allowing members of the public to come and pay their last respects to Jean Lapointe was announced last Friday. The event will be held next Thursday, December 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Saint-Viateur d’Outremont Church in Montreal. However, the former senator and founder of Maison Jean Lapointe will not be entitled to a state funeral.

A private funeral ceremony will be held on December 17 with relatives, friends and certain dignitaries.
