Depuis quelque temps, une recrudescence de vols dans des véhicules avait été observée sur le parking du Marché du Lez.

On May 21, around 8 p.m., the police officers from the anti-crime brigade, who regularly carry out patrols there, were intrigued by the behavior of a couple, leaning on a car.

The man who was walking towards a vehicle moved away when he saw pedestrians approaching. A little later, he walked towards another car, broke a window, grabbed objects and headed towards another vehicle where an accomplice was waiting.

The police then arrested the trio. The thief then tried to get rid of several documents, including a passport, which did not belong to him. This 27-year-old Algerian, in an irregular situation, was taken to the Sète detention center after his custody.

In possession of knives

The 28-year-old woman will be summoned before the prosecutor's delegate. Objects stolen from another parking lot in Montpellier, on the night of May 18 to 19, were found at his home.

Their accomplice, a 17-year-old Algerian, will be brought before the juvenile prosecutor's office. He was driving a stolen car.

If the trio denied their participation in the thefts, investigations are still underway. The two men were also in possession of knives at the time of their arrest.
