A world champion on a friendly visit.

The Jacou sport-boules club had the privilege of receiving on Wednesday February 14, a world champion of this discipline in the person of Matthieu Vercher. Originally from Trèbes, Matthieu plays at the highest level of boules, the new name for Lyon boules, with the best French and European club of Saint-Vulbas in Ain. A member of the French U18 team, he is a double world champion in relay shooting in 2021 and 2022, at the same time beating the world record with 56 balls hit out of 59 balls shot in 5 minutes! Now 20 years old, Matthieu has now joined the French U23 team and still defends the colors of Saint-Vulbas.

Matthieu was accompanied by his partner Chloé, a student in Montpellier, thanks to whom his visit was possible. A very kind character, Matthieu was able to display all his talent in front of the licensees of the Jacou bowling club, but not only that, since other spectators, including a good number of pétanque players, were able to appreciate the qualities of this young person with a bright future.
