MONTREAL – Several services such as access to the shelves will again be permitted by the libraries of Montreal from Monday.
The libraries will, however, continue to impose health standards dictated by the public health. Thus, the wearing of the mask will be mandatory in all installations and a maximum number of persons may be admitted simultaneously in each library.
Thus, as of July 27, Montrealers will be able to access again to the shelves to select the documents they wish to borrow.
The computer equipment will also be available, and it will be possible to sit and consult documents. Conditions will however be imposed.
In the coming weeks and months, the libraries of the metropolis will deploy a programme of activities “adapted to the sanitary conditions in effect”, does it also clarified, on Friday, by issuing a press release.
Remember that the libraries of Montreal had closed their doors on march 13. We had allowed for the return of documents borrowed via falls outside starting June 15, then a week later the library had undertaken the re-opening gradual. Access to the shelves, to the computer stations and printers thus constitutes a new step towards a return to a semblance of normality.
