Accident on the D612: eventful return to school for passengers of a school minibus in Vic-la-Gardiole

The collision between a car and a school minibus occurred this morning, Monday January 8, 2023. 

This Monday, January 8, in the morning, the start of the school year was somewhat disrupted for the children in a school minibus. Their vehicle collided with a Dacia at the Poule-d'Eau crossroads in Vic la Gardiole, on the edge of the commune of Frontignan. We do not yet know the circumstances of the collision which caused traffic jams on the D 612, around 8 a.m. 

The accident caused only minor injuries. The driver of the Dacia involved and the bus driver were taken care of by the firefighters and evacuated to the Lapeyronie University Hospital for control examinations.

An emergency minibus

As for the children, there were three on board the minibus, they were also examined by the emergency services. They were not injured. They were able to reach their school, thanks to another public transport, on the day they returned from the Christmas holidays. 

On site, the Sète firefighters deployed a road emergency vehicle, three ambulances, or around fifteen firefighters, including a nurse.
