A fine young man involved in Chateauguay is accused of, among other things, harassed hockey players to midget AAA to get intimate photos.
Charles-Olivier Patenaude, 25 years, appeared Tuesday morning at the courthouse in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, in Montérégie, shortly after his arrest by the Sûreté du Québec.
The native of Chateauguay is facing eight charges of harassment, luring, computer extortion and transmission of sexually explicit material.
He allegedly threatened a person to have a sexual relationship with him in order to get a job, and another to send him intimate images, one can read in the act of denunciation.
These events, for four people, including three minors, would have occurred between December 2018 and April 2019. The complainants would have evolved within teams of the League de hockey midget AAA du Québec at the time of the alleged offence, according to our information.
In the past, Patenaude has been in charge of the communications of the league in which they play teenagers aged between 14 and 17 years of age, in addition to working in the same functions for the Grenadiers de Châteauguay, a team that is part of it.
The League has severed its ties with the accused as soon as the investigation was initiated and collaborated with the authorities.
Policy and chocolate
Patenaude, who has been released subject to conditions, had also tried his luck in politics. He lost his election as a candidate for the municipal council of Châteauguay, in 2017.
The following year, he was the campaign director for the caquiste MarieChantal Chassé and his director of constituency for some time.

More recently, Patenaude became colicencié, with his mother, of the new franchise Chocolate Favorites open in march, in Chateauguay.
This chocolate factory has been closed until further notice by its chairman, Dominique Brown, Tuesday evening.
