The Carnaval de Québec is expecting an eventful weekend to close its 69thth edition and hopes to see as many visitors as possible take advantage of the outdoor activities on the various sites.
Sliding in town
Young and old alike can slide down the 150 m of the Urban Slide, comfortably seated on a inner tube.
You begin the slide from the Kent gate and the fortifications, to Place D'Youville.
“ This is a novelty that is very popular this year, there's a lot of excitement,” said program director Jérôme Deschênes.
The snow bath
For thrill seekers , the traditional Snow Bath will take place at the Palais de Bonhomme this Sunday at 2 p.m. The event, which always draws large crowds, moved to the main site this year.
Ice Drumming
Ice Orchestra workshops are held once an hour between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Accompanied by musicians, participants will have the opportunity to play on percussion instruments made of ice.
“It's very impressive to see that we can produce a wide variety of sounds with ice as the only material “, argues the director of programming.
A challenge of ascent
Those looking for a sporting activity can go to Camping de Bonhomme to try to climb the Mont de Glace du Carnaval.
About 9m high, the frosted facade offers a great challenge for climbers.
