Following the recruitment of the 46 admitted on the supplementary list by the rector of the Toulouse academy, the 25 candidates awaiting recruitment in the Montpellier academy hope that Sophie Béjean, rector, will do the same.
"While 18 contract workers have been recruited in Hérault alone, and around twenty in Gard, the 25 admitted to the supplementary list have still not been called, unlike the Toulouse academy which has just recruited its entire supplementary list!", protests Sabine Raynaud, from the SNUDI-FO union.
46 finally admitted and recruited in Toulouse
Rector Mostafa Fourar announced on September 11 the recruitment of the 46 candidates admitted to the supplementary list of the 2024 CRPE.
For the union, it is “scandalous to favor the hiring of precarious contract workers without a primary school teacher's diploma while the candidates admitted to the supplementary list have prepared for and passed the competition, and some of them are former primary school teachers who resigned to be able to transfer. They are therefore at least as competent as these contract workers for these positions deemed difficult by the Rector.
“25 candidates waiting”
The candidates wrote these words to the Rector: “We were initially 75 candidates admitted to this list. To date, only 37 positions for trainee primary school teachers (PES) have been offered, exactly half of the list. In addition, 13 withdrawals have taken place, all reluctantly, due to the imposed geographical location. Thus, in total, 50 candidates have been contacted for these 37 positions. We are therefore still 25 candidates waiting to be recruited, despite the still glaring needs."
"We have been informed that the Toulouse academy has recruited all the candidates on its supplementary list on September 12, 2024. We note with great regret that our academy has not taken a similar measure. This disparity between the two academies, both of which are faced with significant needs in terms of educational staff, is difficult for us to assimilate, especially since the need for teachers is glaring throughout the region."
For its part, the union points out: "We would like to point out that these people on the supplementary list have prepared for and passed the competition, have the required grades to be admitted to the main list, but that they are not admitted due to a lack of positions to fill. Some have already taught as contract workers, others are former school teachers with several years of seniority who have resigned in order to be able to transfer."
