After “The Voice”: the metamorphosis of Jordane Labrie
Jordane Labrie's participation in the sixth season of La Voix may have only taken place in 2018, but for her, this time seems distant, she has evolved so much as an artist.
“I have really come a long way as an artist since this experience. A lot has happened since then,” she added in a telephone interview. For her, The Voicefirst allowed him to meet his audience, “many tell me that they met me thanks to the show”, underlined the one who is from Les Escoumins. She has also made musical friends whom she intends to keep for a long time to come.
From folk to indie pop
A little less than a year after her participation in the popular reality show, the one who presents herself only with her first name, Jordane, launches 12 Days, a first album in French composed entirely during a train trip across the country and gives itself the mandate to give three concerts a day to travelers.
“12 days , it is also the idea of a girl who decides to go on an adventure, to leave her ties behind to go and see what is happening on the other side of the country”, she had revealed to the at the Journal.

But, three years and a mini-album later, the artist wanted to do something else. “During the pandemic, there are a lot of artists who have taken a step back from their projects, who have migrated to new styles, and that was my case. I challenged myself, remade a new team, and it did me the greatest good”, she said, speaking of her album Reine de papier, launched in April 2022, and with much more indie pop accents than his usual style.
“It’s also the first album where I was lead songwriter on almost all of the songs on the album. I've co-written a lot in the past, but now, Paper Queen, it's a project that fully represents me,” she added.
In Europe for 2023?
Right now, Jordane is planning a new show that will be presented across the province next summer and fall. “We have just finished pre-production and we have done something really original and new”, indicated the one who is eager to present her new project.
The artist also does not hide from have ambitions to present their music internationally. “I just came back from France, where I went to perform for the first time for my project. My team and I are trying to open new doors,” she said, optimistic about the future.
