Le camion itinérant “Agath’You” permet l’utilisation de casques de réalité virtuelle pour découvrir et s’immerger de façon réaliste et ludique dans le monde du travail. Démonstration au lycée Loubatières.
The innovation, proposed by the Youth service of the City of Agde through its itinerant truck “Agath’You”, is to allow the’ use of virtual reality headsets to discover and immerse yourself in the world of work in a realistic and fun way. This is what happened throughout this week at Loubatières high school. An event aimed at the eleven general secondary classes, i.e. more than 330 students who benefited from this system.
View the jobs offered
"We organized the orientation forum, offered by the high school for final year classes. The Youth service took advantage of this opportunity to meet young people in second year classes, who must choose an option before moving on to a final year class. By having, thanks to our VR headsets and the Métiers 360 software, an idea of more than 220 professions offered in total immersion, this will help them in choosing their vocation,” explains the head of the Youth department, Stéphane Mathurin.
In groups of six, the students came to try out the helmets. Helped by the Social Cohesion and Youth department team, they immersed themselves in the world of work. One of them, at the end of the experience, gave his impressions: "Really great! I wasn't convinced when we were presented with this experience, but it lived up to my expectations. We approach the jobs offered to us from all angles. It’s not a gadget, it’s really a work tool."
An operation that is only just beginning
This innovative approach to the presentation of professions clearly highlights what these young second-year students will be presented with when they are in their final year. Since its commissioning, at the start of the 2023 school year, the itinerant “Agath’You” strategic places in the city, like this week at the Loubatières high school. Its exploitation is only just beginning and with these VR headsets, the possibilities of use are countless. To complete this system, young people are invited, by scanning a QR code, to create their application.
"An application for them, created by them." For this they connect to Wooclap, enter the code AGDEAPPLI and answer a questionnaire which will then allow the facilitators to of the Youth service to get as close as possible to their wishes. Coming on site, the elected official in charge of the digital transition, François Péréa, accompanied by the director of Social Cohesion and Youth, Cathy Bergès, were able to see the impact that has had “Agath’You” on young people.
