Sandrine Moustardier and Kévin Ortiz plan to raise the sum of 150,000 € to finance an acquisition currently under development.
It was following a family tragedy in 2014, the loss of her 23-year-old daughter, that Sandrine Moustardier committed herself to come to helps the sick, more specifically children and families. A very difficult, even insurmountable moment for this mother, who helped and followed her daughter for 17 months at the Montpellier Cancer Institute. “The aftermath was very complicated and the presence of the ICM psychologist Val d’Aurelle helped me a lot. I then decided to give time and raise money for sick children“ she explains.
Actions carried out for several years
Helped by a friend from Agde, business manager Kévin Ortiz, several actions will be set up to raise funds: through sporting events or cultural, but also thanks to patronage and businesses. "All this money is transmitted directly to the ICM. I am a volunteer and named honorary ambassador of the ICM“ explains Sandrine. Several actions were carried out, such as the purchase of virtual headsets in 2019 so that children can hear music during radiotherapy sessions, for an amount of 70,000 euros.
A robot that reassures children who go to the theater
The big project for this year is the creation of a robot that will pick up children in the waiting room. A project that will improve the comfort of the child, as well as their approach to the hospital, since it reproduces the voice of the parents. A first in France, designed by children's radiotherapist Julien Welmant. “ He thought about the technical aspects of this robot, Kévin and I will provide the necessary funds, around 150,000 euros for this operation. For the moment we are at the prototype stage and we will release photos as soon as the robot is put into service.“
An evening on July 4 in Pézenas
This strong commitment from Sandrine helps her on a daily basis. “I want to continue in this approach, help even more and keep this role of ambassador& ;quot;, she explains. "For me, ICM is my second family“ she concludes. Kévin got involved without count: “I want to give echo to her project and develop with her the association Plus fort la vie“. A charity evening will be organized on July 4 at the Château Saint-Martin de Graves, in Pézénas.
