Martine Dubayle Calbano, maire de Saturargues, a lancé cette seconde édition. A. C.

The event was launched this Thursday evening, October 10th, at the Michel-Galabru hall in Saturargues.

It was a good choice and a good tone to inaugurate, this Thursday evening, October 10th, the second edition of the L'une Elles festival in a town whose mayor is a woman. In this case, Saturargues and Martine Dubayle Calbano, who spoke to launch this event dedicated to women – and to everyone, let's agree – and directed by women, both behind the scenes and on stage.

"Challenging stereotypes"

Led by the Agglo de Lunel, scheduled over four days, from October 10 to 13, L'une Elles is a clever mix of events that allow “through a funny, sensitive, sometimes sharp look – and sometimes all of this combined – artists to offer this incredible ability to broaden our vision of the world, to strike us in the heart and to make us move forward, individually and collectively", stressed the president of Lunel Agglo, Pierre Soujol.

"The purpose of this festival is also to shake up stereotypes", continued the mayor of Lunel, before being satisfied "with the choice to anchor this event in our local heritage".

Across the territory

Since its creation last year, the L’une Elles festival has chosen to extend to various sites and locations across the territory: Ambrussum, the Orangerie park in Lunel-Viel, the historic center of Lunel, the municipal park in Saint-Sériès, the network of media libraries, the Médard museum, etc., to name just a few examples.

But it was on the Michel-Galabru stage in Saturargues that Claire Méchin opened this promising second edition. With her vulva and her ukulele, etc. in reference to the title of her first one-woman show made up of parodies of French songs.
