Mercredi 10 juillet, un détenu déjà connu pour des violences sur le personnel pénitentiaire a agressé quatre surveillants.

But furious at not being able to meet a psychologist, the inmate was virulent. And although handcuffed to be escorted back to his cell, he struggled and injured four agents, even though they were equipped with protection (helmet, breastplate…). The latter suffer, for one of them from a sprained knee, for others from neck injuries and bruises. According to Ufap -Unsa, the individual had already committed violence, particularly with knives, against staff, during previous incarcerations.

"How to manage a detention of 938 inmates instead of 587 with only 17 afternoon duty officers on the schedule, instead of 26 normally planned ? The afternoon shift will end at 13 agents awaiting medical diagnoses from our comrades, once again physically and morally affected", points to the union.

Two supervisors attacked a few days ago

On July 9, a psychologically unstable inmate had already attacked two guards at the Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone penitentiary center. One of them suffered a concussion after hitting the ground with her head. The perpetrator was taken into police custody and was to be tried this Friday, July 12, in immediate appearance before the criminal court.
