The 8,000 professionals from French-language school service centers of the Federation of Quebec Education Professionals (FPPE-CSQ) and the Centrale des unions du Québec signed their new collective agreement on Wednesday . & nbsp;
The signing of the final texts of the new 2020-2023 employment contract thus puts an end to negotiations which will have lasted nearly two years.
“The Progress obtained during these negotiations, particularly in terms of salary and in improving professional development and the insurance plan, were made possible by the historic mobilization of professionals throughout Quebec ”, declared Jacques Landry, President of the FPPE -CSQ.
For his part, the president of the CSQ, Éric Gingras, indicated that “this agreement is a step forward for education, but much remains to be done. We are preparing for another round of negotiations and we will need the government to assure us of its willingness to continue improving the network and our working conditions. ”
Among the main elements of this new collective agreement , workers will be entitled to a salary increase of 6% over three years. Professionals at the lower echelons will benefit from an additional 1%.
