Ce samedi 24 février, en matinée, le Président de la République échange avec une cinquantaine d'agriculteurs au Salon de l'agriculture à Paris. Parmi les intervenants, le Gardois Frédéric Cavagna.
"We ask to make a living from our profession in the Gard!". It was with his words that Frédéric Cavagna, departmental secretary of the FDSEA of Gard, green cap screwed on his head, challenged the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron this Saturday, February 24 in the morning, on the sidelines of the Agricultural Show, in a very tense context.
After the actions of the day before in Nîmes, the Tornac winemaker was able to go to the heart of the Parisian event to challenge, in the same way as around fifty representatives of agricultural unions, the head of state.
Imported products covered
The Gard representative of the FDSEA focused his remarks on imported products: "We must stop imports from Spain. Viticulture is dead because wine from Spain is being let in. We have standards that we can't even apply. We are in the process of bankrupting viticulture in the south of France. This will also happen for market gardening and arboriculture. We need a plan to protect agriculture in the south of France."
Frédéric Cavagna explained to President Macron "that it's like asking a horse to win a trifecta race with a ball. I can’t even pay for my daughter’s canteen,” he told the head of state.
