Airline Ratings, site de référence sur la sécurité et l'évaluation des services des compagnies aériennes a publié son palmarès des transporteurs aériens en 2024.

385 companies were screened by the rating site AirlineRatings.com in 2024. Each year, in January, this site establishes a ranking of the 25 safest air carriers.

There is no doubt that this question is at the heart of the concerns of many travelers, particularly after the stalling of a door in mid-flight of an Alaska Airlines Boeing on January 5, 2024 or the Japan Airlines plane which caught fire on January 2, 2024 at Tokyo-Haneda airport.

What criteria ?

The editor-in-chief of the site AirlineRatings.com, Geoffrey Thomas, specifies that the editors analyze the accidents that have occurred over the past five years; serious incidents occurring over the past two years; audits carried out by aviation governing bodies and major associations; government audits or even the age of the fleet and crew training.

On the issue of incidents, the editor-in-chief of the airline rating site assures that "all airlines have incidents every day (.. .) It's how the flight crew handles these serious incidents that distinguishes a good airline from an unsafe one.
