Albania: one dead in the attack on a television channel

A security guard was killed overnight from Sunday to Monday in an automatic weapon attack on Albania's largest private television channel, Top Channel, police said.< /strong>
Shots were fired with a Kalashnikov from an all-terrain car driving past the TV building, killing the 60-year-old man.
< p>“Those who have not yet been identified fired automatic rifle bursts in the direction of the Top Channel building,” police said in a statement.
The first Minister Edi Rama denounced a “criminal aggression” and expressed his “solidarity” with the teams of the chain. The attack was also condemned by all political parties.
At the time of the attack, which occurred around 1 a.m. (2300 GMT), the security guard was in a glass booth in the courtyard of the building.
This chain employs hundreds of people and many of them were still at work.
