A concerto by Francis Poulenc and "The Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint Saëns restored, this Saturday, February 3, true letters of popular nobility to music.
On the Cratère stage, the Avignon-Provence national orchestra, under the direction of Lucie Leguay, brought together, this Saturday evening, a trio of distinguished artists for two remarkable pages of music to which the duo pianists Jatekok and the humorous narrator Alex Vizorek brought their tribute. First, after a few words from Vizorek to set the stage for the ears, we listen to Poulenc's concerto for two pianos where Naïri Badal and Adélaïde Panaget shine in virtuoso digital flights. A melting pot work in three movements where all genres mingle, from the ribald to the symphonic, as this genre could be appreciated in the 1930s.

And then, finally, the Carnival with its exotic bestiary, designed for a 19th century Parisian Mardi Gras. Saint- Saëns indulged in seemingly infantile musical antics which, after his death, gave him unparalleled popularity. Alex Vizorek has designed a new text for him (in verse please) which fits perfectly with the action of the moment. With his sense of juggernaut, he takes with him the audience, and the young people present, in a saraband of pleasure where the music here collaborates perfectly with what was expected of it. A very beautiful evening which proclaims that nothing is ever truly finished.
