She did not expect such repercussions. 

Positive impacts

The prize pool which dates back to May to raise funds to help the team has exceeded the planned objective. Of the 10,000 dollars hoped for, some 11,340 dollars had already been recorded this Wednesday, January 31.

The little media boost via the actress's post surely boosted the funds.

Negative repercussions

But the message also provoked a slew of negative comments. Some find it inappropriate that she asks for money, particularly from her fans, to finance a trip that she must have the means to pay for, others find it downright scandalous. .

She defends herself and explains the approach: "The media asks me if I contributed financially to my son's baseball team. I paid for the uniforms of the entire team and coaches, I threw birthday parties, and I sponsor kids who don't have the means to pay their monthly contribution."

Before adding: "The kids also organize fundraisers themselves – car washes, movie nights and much more ;other fun things!"
