Still undefeated in their Fédérale 2 group, the Vendres-Lespignan-Sauvian players host Saint-Saturnin this Sunday, hoping to stay at the top.

She is a regular in this division, the Entente Vendres-Lespignan-Sauvian has returned this season to Fédérale 3. Returning on a very good basis with three wins in as many games. First in Sète in the opening match (12-19), then at home against Draguignan (30-23), his executioner last year in the 32nd final, and finally, in Alès, in pain (19-25).

“For the moment, all the lights are green”, rejoices Richard Castel, coach in charge of the forwards. Green, the fetish color of this club but also that of hope. How can we not have it after a great start, both in the first team and in the reserves.

“We are a single senior group, there is not a single team and a reserve team”, specifies the technician, who is accompanied by a large staff with Thierry Fransino, Anthony Cortes, Jean Laurent Arvieu, Lionel Chavernac, Olivier Roca and Frédéric Montagut.

“Let us be masters of our game”

A staff that has seen some changes this summer with the departures of Nicolas Tisané (Pézenas) and Laurent Tricoit (Servian-Boujan). With such a start to the season, the Vendro-Lespignano-Sauvianais can aim high. "It's been two years since teams 1 and B qualified… The goal is to be at least at that level at the end of the season", explains Castel who can rely on "a mix of generations, with youngsters coming up from the National M18s, players reaching maturity but also veterans who take on their role as leaders to the full."

This Sunday in Lespignan, Saint-Saturnin, promoted with experienced players, advances as second in the group after 42-6 wins against Marseille RM, at Mourillon (17-14) and a narrow defeat in Alès (28-20).

Will Entente adapt to its Vaucluse opponent?? Richard Castel prefers to take the lead: “We have to be masters of our game, we'll see later in the season to adapt to the opponent”, while being “combative and putting the fundamentals on the field to be at 2,000%.”
