Installed since February 10 and until February 25 in the Barrou district, the animation around dinosaurs arouses the incomprehension of certain local residents who denounce an obstacle to their free movement. nbsp;
The white marquees stand proudly above the gleaming red trucks: the Dino Park is well established in the Barrou district of Sète. Since February 10, it has taken up residence on Place Bir Hakeim, or market square, located on the edge of the Etang de Thau. An installation which should have gone unnoticed, the attraction usually taking place at this location every year, but which this time aroused the incomprehension of certain residents. The reason: the little space left for pedestrians and cyclists to pass between the fairgrounds and the pond.
Freedom of movement
"This is unacceptable, it is an obstacle to my freedom of movement!", declares a local resident who is used to walking her dog there. This sixty-year-old from the neighborhood, who prefers to remain anonymous, denounces the lack of consideration for elderly people in general, who now have to slalom between the iron stakes and the straps that hold the structures together. Jacques, who is also walking his dog, agrees: "It's all the stranger since in other years we could spend". A point of view widely shared on social networks, where numerous photos of the place concerned are published, but also by councilor Sébastien Pacull who wrote an open letter to the mayor at this subject, Thursday February 15.
The narrow passage between trucks and the coast
At Dino Park, we simply explain having complied with the injunctions of the municipality, which came a few days after their arrival to ask that they widen the passage so that it corresponds to the required 1.30 meters. "We have already moved the trailers, there are now two meters to pass, we can't do better", defends Stéphane Mainzeret , communications manager for the amusement park. On the municipal side, the "associations and neighborhoods" de Sète claims to have received only two complaints. These have been addressed by the authorities concerned. In the meantime, the dinosaurs of the market square will continue their show until February 25.
