An open day to discover the training courses at the Millau higher education center

No question of playing in the backyard of the great Occitan neighbors that are the universities of Montpellier and Toulouse. But, in Millau, it is also possible to follow higher education courses. Each year no less than 700 students are enrolled in fifteen post-baccalaureate courses. With, in addition – and it’s a real Millavois bonus – a connected campus. Grouped together in the higher education center, located at Esplanade François-Mitterand, seven of these courses are organizing an open day this Tuesday, April 9.

Employees undergoing retraining and job seekers

Scheduled from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., the invitation to the general public, in particular to those looking for ideas for the next school year in September, will thus make it possible to highlight, without order of precedence: the conservatory national arts and crafts (CNAM), the Millavoise association for integration and orientation (AMIO), Millau higher education (MES), the South Aveyron IT Institute (2ISA) , the National University Institute of Champollion without forgetting the autonomous housing committee for young people of Rodez (CLAJ).

The originality of the Millavois connected campus

Inaugurated in July 2021 by Frédérique Vidal, then Minister of Higher Education, the connected campus is a unique feature of Millavine."We were winners of a call for projects from the Ministry of Higher Education the same year" recently recalled in our columns Séverine Peyretout , municipal councilor. The idea was then to "remove obstacles linked to the fact that Millau is in a rural area. Whether these obstacles are geographical but also economic and even psychological." For three years the connected campus of Millau has welcomed very varied profiles (18-45 years old) with a lot of skills increases.

A series of stands, planned in the right wing of the building, between the reception and several classrooms, will allow day visitors to gather information on services and student life in Millau. But also on housing possibilities without forgetting the training component for people with disabilities.

These open days are not only aimed at high school students or students but also at work-study students, job seekers, employees looking for retraining…hellip; With, for everyone, a range of training covering sectors as wide as commerce, administration, finance, education, health, sport, animation and even more computer science.
