UPDATE DAY

Angelina Jolie has found the perfect companion to escort her to a state dinner with the President of the United States on Wednesday. The actress arrived on the arm of her grown-up son Maddox.

Angelina Jolie and her son Maddox, now 21, turned heads at the state dinner held in Washington by Joe Biden and the first lady and to which the South Korean president and the first lady were invited.

The 47-year-old actress and humanitarian wore a Chanel jacket and a long, floaty cream dress while Maddox was dressed in a black frock coat, white shirt and black tie.

The dinner “celebrated the 70th anniversary of the U.S.-Korea alliance,” according to an official White House statement

Maddox studied at Seoul's Yonsei University and Angelina Jolie has visited South Korea many times for her humanitarian advocacy, to meet refugees over the past two decades, and as an artist.

A source close to the actress reportedly told PEOPLE magazine: “Asia-America relations are important to Angelina's family. She and the children have had close ties to the region, including South Korea, for many years. Angelina and Maddox are honored to attend this state dinner.

The actress last visited Seoul in 2019, when Maddox started at Yonsei University. The book she co-wrote on youth rights with Amnesty International “Know Your Rights and Claim Them” was published in South Korea last year.

Since her high-profile divorce with Brad Pitt – with whom she was married for two years and in a relationship for eleven years – the actress has been discreet about her loves. A few months ago, some people lent him an adventure with the Irish actor Paul Mescal, who became famous with his role in the series “Normal people”.
