Les agriculteurs qui occupent l'autoroute A9 à hauteur de Nîmes Ouest ont le sentiment d'avoir été un peu plus entendus par le gouvernement mais ils restent prudents.
The A9 motorway near the Nîmes West interchange is still busy this Wednesday, January 31, almost a week after the outbreak of the farmers' angry movement. On site, the demonstrators received a visit this Wednesday morning from the deputy for the 5th constituency of Gard Michel Sala (La France Insoumise).
The latter insists that there be the establishment of floor prices and a blocking of distributors' margins "to guarantee fair remuneration. We must end free trade agreements which create unfair competition by allowing the importation of products which do not respect our social, health and environmental standards.
Announcements on viticulture
This Wednesday morning, farmers also returned to the latest announcements from the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture, in particular to help the viticulture sector: "For the first time time, the Minister of Agriculture announced this morning measures going in the right direction. It's rather satisfactory, says David Sève, president of the FDSEA du Gard.
But he remains cautious: "We are now waiting for concrete proposals".
