Anger of farmers: the mobilization does not weaken in Rebourguil in South Aveyron

Depuis samedi matin, des agriculteurs du secteur de Saint-Sernin-sur-Rance, Belmont-sur-Rance et Camarès, dans le Sud Aveyron, ont rejoint, à titre individuel, le mouvement national de contestation de leurs collègues.

This Sunday, there are still around thirty of them with tractors, trailers, tippers and even a combine harvester. All installed on both sides of the road, the RD 999 near Rebourgil, in South Aveyron. Their objective is not to block traffic but to show by their presence their support for the national demands of the profession. Some came with family. And not everyone was necessarily there on Saturday, the day of the first mobilization.

With the strong wind blowing this Sunday, some found shelter under a shed made available for a local agricultural business. They painted new banners on black plastic tarpaulins that  #39;they hung on various agricultural machines so that they were clearly visible from the main road. Among the slogans: "no country without farmers", "our job is in a tractor, not in front of a computer"  or "no food without agriculture".

"We want prices for a product. We don't panhandle"

In the group of farmers Julien Guy, 45 years old, cow's milk and meat producer. He is based in GAEC in Belmont with his wife and their 23-year-old son. A second son should join the GAEC which has one hundred and twenty cows. "We're fed up", said Julien Guy. "We want prices for a product. We don't panhandle. We want our products to be paid for at their fair value. To be able to compete with foreign products, we must have the same standards."

The farmer notes that for cow's milk, the price increases for the consumer and falls for the producer: "The problem is valid for all the productions. We support the movement. We don't want to annoy people and block them. We take turns on the site and we are scheduled to be there again on Monday." This is confirmed by David Rouquier, sheep breeder dairy farms in Combret: "The action continues as long as we are not satisfied."
