Another great day for Lance Stroll and Aston Martin

UPDATE DAY

The AMR23 model definitely suits Aston Martin drivers. On Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso both qualified in the top 6 for Sunday's Grand Prix.

The Quebecer easily crossed the first and second qualifying sessions and set a time of 1 min 28.945 s, his best of the day, in Q3 to take sixth place on the grid.

After having surprised by going up on the podium at the Bahrain Grand Prix, his teammate Alonso added to it by finishing qualifying second in a time of 1:28.730.

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc was quicker than the Spaniard, but fell back to 12th in due to a penalty.

The green single-seaters took advantage of Max Verstappen's bad luck to get into the first three rows on the grid. The Dutchman, big favorite to take pole position, was relegated to 15th after suffering engine trouble in Q2.

Red Bull's other representative, Sergio Pérez, did not miss his luck. He will lead the peloton when the start is launched.
