Des conférences sont organisées ce samedi 14 septembre à la Faculté de Médecine de Montpellier pour échanger sur l’infertilité, sa place dans la société, mais aussi sur le parcours éprouvant des patients.

“This is a first: a patient association that brings together professionals from the public and private sectors on this topic, it's really very interesting. And it shows that we are all here for the same fight.” Dr. Nicolas Chevalier, a gynecologist specializing in reproductive medicine at the Saint-Roch clinic, is very enthusiastic about the day entitled “All united against infertility”.

The initiative organized this Saturday, September 14 by the dynamic Sabrina Barbat-Bourdoncle of the Bamp collective will allow health professionals – clinic or hospital – as well as the general public to come and discuss PMA, a subject more than ever at the heart of current events, and on all the questions surrounding fertility.

A section dedicated to professionals

Bringing together the public and private sectors is essential for the event organizer. “The goal is really to bring together the two specialized entities, to bring synergy and to be able to integrate other health professionals such as treating physicians, so that everyone can best support patients.”

“We already all work together, but this type of exchange is always useful for improving,” the gynecologist explains. And to add: “In particular on what the patient experiences in their care pathway which is trying both physically and psychologically.”

Changing mentalities

With the notion that in 2046, one in two couples will be faced with fertility issues, “it is high time to change mentalities on this subject which is still taboo in France”, argues the regional manager of the Bamp collective.

This is why professionals and individuals are invited to share their opinions and experiences during this day dedicated to PMA and infertility.
