Trade union organizations are calling for the mobilization of primary and secondary teachers, this Tuesday, April 2, to protest against the new reform of the "Clash of Knowledge". The FCPE is relaunching the operation of empty schools, middle schools and high schools throughout Hérault.

All the organizations (SNES-FSU, SNEP-FSU, FNEC FP FO, CGT Educ’action and SUD education) are calling for mobilization this Tuesday 2  April, for the abandonment of the "Shock of knowledge" reform, and for a salary increase "without compensation" and resources for public schools.

Groups of "needs" and no longer "level"

The FCPE (Federation of Parents' Councils) joins the movement against the establishment of  "level groups" at the start of the 2024 school year, which have become & ;quot;need groups" since the arrival of Nicole Belloubet, and that flexibility is given to the teaching teams to organize French and mathematics lessons in 6th and 5th grade in groups, &amp ;quot;according to needs", therefore.

Colleges choose an à la carte implementation

A rebellious wind has already begun to blow over the educational councils of certain colleges, proposing to organize level groups in 6th and 5th over a single hour, at instead of the four planned in the timetable.

In the boards of directors of these establishments devoted to the vote on the DGH (global hourly allocation) traditionally in February, we even avoided the debate… by not organizing it! And concern about its implementation is growing.

"How can we imagine that a group of children all experiencing academic difficulties could acquire skills likely to enable them to move up to the good ones who will necessarily have advanced faster in the program ?", questions the federation. Of what"deepen social inequalities" and encourage stigmatization "in a group of losers, which will generate a drop in motivation, essential for progress.

In the reform, it is said that the groups of children most in difficulty will be reduced (15 students for example), when the others will be able to increase to 30 and that the objectives will be the same for all. "But then, why are we talking about achieving excellence for some, and reviewing the fundamentals for others ?". The question of means is raised, "the implementation is done with constant means". And there is a fear of undressing one to clothe the other, like the suppression of measures such as the teaching of ancient languages ​​or semi-languages -language and science groups.
