Anyway, "here, we still vote for the man…" And it’s not the progress of Marine Le Pen's party that is giving her a cold sweat (in the European elections: 32.88 % in 2014, 32.11  % in 2019, and 36.83% this weekend, to which we must notably add the 6.14% from Marion Maréchal's list): &amp ;quot;In the next municipal elections, they will go from 9 % to 12 %…"

Ch. Rivenq: "The RN will do more than last time"

His right-hand man and designated successor, Christophe Rivenq, is on the same line and, when it comes to the far-right in municipal elections, shows himself "not worried at all". However, could the National Rally not get the Alésiens to vote twice in a city where Max Roustan was elected several times in the first round ? What prospects for the Alesian left?

On the left, these European elections could leave their mark. Indeed, with the good national score of the socialist Raphaël Glucksmann's list, Arnaud Bord concedes that'"today, ( he se) asks a lot of questions about the future". The decline of the Communist Party, which marked the history of Alès, and the good positioning, for the left, of the PS and LFI constitute "a sign&quot ; : "It changes the landscape though…" To the point of taking the place of the communist Paul Planque, leader of the left on the municipal council ? "There will be discussions", thinks Arnaud Bord. "We are two years away from the elections. Two years is a long time, it is far away. What matters is the project. Who will embody it ? It is still too early to say…"

For his part, Paul Planque also talks about a project. He, in view of the European elections, "realizes that the second most important force in Alès is the left, and by far". He wants the Alès Spring to remain "a citizens' movement", "an alliance of values" rather than an alliance of political parties. For the time being, Paul Planque is categorical: “I do not feel put in difficulty at the local level, as a communist, after this bad score in the European elections.”
