Around twenty employees are carrying out a communication action at the TotalEnergies relay, in Marguerittes, this Monday, March 18.

On the A9 motorway, in the Lyon-Spain direction, it is at the TotalEnergies relay at Marguerittes that around ten employees of Argedis, a subsidiary of the French gas supplier, have been mobilized since 9 a.m. this Monday, March 18.

Unequal working conditions

"We are a subsidiary of Total (TotalEnergies, Editor's note) and our working conditions are much less advantageous", begins by explaining Cédric Molina, Argedis employee. "Record profits were made by the Total company in recent months. The CEO announced 9,000 € of profit sharing in the media, for station employees like us, it's ten times less! We are not asking for thousands and cents, simply a surplus of profit sharing a little more egalitarian", continues the one who is also deputy general secretary CFDT Métallurgie Languedoc-Roussillon.

With employees barely paid above the minimum wage, staff employed on Sundays, public holidays, at night… and management staff subject to strong hierarchical pressure, "depression and burn-out follow each other, continues Cédric. Our working conditions are deplorable so much so that we no longer have a private life." After having gathered for the first time on Tuesday March 12, the employees of ;Argedis waiting to negotiate with their management. "We were there last week. If we have to carry out this type of action twice a week, we will do it. For the moment we are awaiting an announcement from Mr. Pouyanné."

“It's starting to take shape”

Present on 182 sites within the TotalEnergies network in France, the Argedis subsidiary hopes that its demands will be heard and that new negotiations will take place very soon. While actions have already been carried out in Hérault in the Ambrussum south area (A9 motorway), "it is starting to take hold form on a national scale", says Cédric Molina. This is particularly the case of the service stations of Communay Sud (69 ), Lormont (33), Fontbelleau (33) or even L'Obrion (54) where gatherings took place last Monday March 11.
