Le candidat de la gauche unie sur la 4e circonscription appelle à la mobilisation générale.

Comment concilier les différentes orientations des partis qui constituent le Nouveau Front populaire ?

We all agreed on a pact. There are 143 points where we are on the same line. For the rest, everyone retains their freedom and the debate remains open. This is democracy.

After the European elections, some supporters admitted that they were not in phase with LFI. Aren't you afraid of losing votes?

This was true for the Europeans. Each vote has its truth. For European issues, we have many differences between all the components of the New Popular Front (NFP). Today, some have been decided in the signed pact, and other points remain unresolved and under debate. The NFP is not a new party. It’s a coming together on a common programmatic base established with the richness of our differences. Our priority is to provide a bulwark against the RN.

PS executive, how did you smooth out the disagreements with LFI ?

In our pact, things are clearly written. Our support for Ukraine is unconditional. For the conflict in the Middle East, we demand an immediate ceasefire and the release of the hostages. The Hamas attack is a terrorist act, and we are for the recognition of two states in compliance with international law.

How do your supporters position themselves with this union ?

The upcoming election is not a classic legislative one. Emmanuel Macron's choice is to impose a referendum on us on “Which France do you want tomorrow ?”. With three blocks, the answer is clear. The France of the exclusion, liberal, anti-ecological of the RN. The France of usurpation with a presidential majority that wants to cure the ills it has created. And, finally, the France of hope that we embody, which rejects the RN but also offers concrete and funded solutions to the French in order to improve their lives.

If you were elected, what would be your conception of the role of deputy ?

A deputy is a legislator. He debates and creates law in parliament and controls government activity. But he is also the elected official of a constituency for which he is the spokesperson. It must be a facilitator for territorial projects. The MP can knock on the doors of ministries to advance projects or unblock situations.

You have examples ?

The end of the 2X2 lanes between Alès and Nîmes. The policies carried out by local authorities such as De Cèze Cévennes, Alès Agglo… cannot be optimal without coherent road and rail networks. If we want to develop employment, it requires direct connections. This type of file, if it is not supported by parliamentarians, it does not move forward. There is also the management of renewable energy. I am in favor of the creation of a large public energy service in which the Agglo, alongside the State, would be responsible for developing photovoltaic projects like that of Lavabreille, yet entrusted to a private operator. For the slaughterhouse, it’s the same. We must create a structure resized to the essential needs of short circuits in connection with the territorial food project carried by Alès Agglo.
